Bio
Pat Quinn
Pat Quinn performs a mixture of country, folk, rock, ballads, contemporary - adding to her arrangements bits and pieces of traditional musicality and instruments. The social consciousness she brings to her lyrics are moving and inspiring and add ever more layers to her eclectic collection of songs. She has a newly released album Long Way to Heaven. She co-produced, played bass and guitar on most of the songs.
Pat started playing music in Pennsylvania. She soon joined a bluegrass band and switched from guitar to bass. Moving to Los Angeles introduced her to country and was an original member of a band called the Eddys led by Ed Black who had previously been with Linda Ronstadt and Karla Bonoff. She has played bass and sang backup vocals for Lucinda Williams, Rosie Flores and various other bands in the LA area. You can hear her harmonies on the album Lucinda Williams. For various reasons Pat retired from playing. She never thought that she would perform again. A few years ago a friend started encouraging her to play. First she picked up the guitar. The bass came next. It felt alien to her at first but soon she was back on the bicycle. She started playing with a trio singing harmony and playing bass. But an urge to write songs came bubbling up and over a 2 year period she wrote over a dozen songs. The result is the album called Long Way Heaven.
